At the core of Presbyterian identity is a secure hope in the grace of God in Jesus Christ, a hope that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, empowers us to live lives of gratitude: “In affirming with the earliest Christians that Jesus is Lord, the Church confesses that he is its hope, and that the Church, as Christ’s body, is bound to his authority and thus free to live in the lovely, joyous reality of the grace of God.” (Book of Order F-1.0204)

Baptism
Baptism is one of two sacraments practiced here. We believe in Infant Baptism as an outward symbol of God’s unconditional love for us, and God’s claim on our lives as a Child of God. We also practice Believer’s Baptism for those not previously baptized. Please call IPC if you would like information about scheduling a baptism (219-865-2686).
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
Communion is the second sacrament practiced here. We believe in an “Open Table,” meaning that anyone of any color, age, faith tradition background, or orientation is welcome at communion. It is the table of Jesus to share, not “ours” to protect.
